Leica Celebrates Iconic Photographer Ralph Gibson at Photo London2019
For the fourth year running, Leica camera has been selected as an Official Partner of Photo London. This year, Leica honours American art photographer and long-time Leica devotee Ralph Gibson with exclusive exhibitions, talks and events. Leica’s exhibition at Photo London will hold prime positioning at the international photography fair, located at the main (northside) entrance of the courtyard pavilion at Somerset House.

The International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum (IPHF) announced its 2019 class of Photography Hall of Fame inductees and honored them at its 2019 Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 1 at .ZACK in the Grand Center Arts District in St. Louis. The IPHF annually awards and inducts notable photographers or photography industry visionaries for their artistry, innovation, and significant contributions to the art and science of photography.

Le Pavillon populaire de Montpellier propose à partir de mercredi une somptueuse échappée dans l'oeuvre onirique, intime et mystérieuse de Ralph Gibson, un des plus grands noms de la photographie américaine contemporaine. Intitulée "Ralph Gibson. La Trilogie, 1970-74", l'exposition visible jusqu'au 7 janvier 2018, est constituée de 130 tirages noir et blanc à forts contrastes, reprenant pour la première fois l'ensemble des trois recueils du maître du surréalisme et de l'abstraction en photographie.

Book Making Workshop at Leica Store San Francisco
Friday, July 14th - Monday, July 17th, 2017 | Price: $2,500
This will be a 4-day workshop and will deal with the dummy as an object in and of itself. An object developed to the level of presentation for final publication. Aspects of layout, design, double-page spreads, book cover impact and editorial thrust as well as binding, typography, separation for plate-making, distribution formulas and more will be addressed. Each participant will be required to bring a laptop computer along with the necessary jpegs of their photographs to be placed in the dummy. A basic knowledge of a layout program such as InDesign is entirely recommended. The dummy pages will be printed with inkjet printers provided during the workshop. LEARN MORE / BOOK NOW

"At Palm Springs, Gibson, a noted Leica user, will be shooting with a new piece of equipment—a “Ralph Gibson” signature Leica M Monochrom camera, with which, he said in a recent interview, he hopes to create very specific types of images for a very specific purpose. “I have an idea of the figure, where I’m going to have a 90mm lens on the Leica M, and I’m going to abstract the figure—you’re going to know that what I’m shooting are body parts, but they are going to be moving in and out of the frame, in and out of the focal plane. And that’s going to be my next film.
